Fashion Houston: Behind-The-Scenes

Fashion Houston week was a blur of makeup, up-dos, and accessories. A complete whirlwind of amazing fashion, the week was anything but ordinary. Here is a glimpse of what went on behind the curtains of the runway leading up to the amazing shows at Fashion Houston.
Of course, The Vintage Contessa look would not have been complete without the vintage up-do for Chloe Dao's show. Well worth the couple of hours it took to create! Shout out to the fabulous hair stylist, Souki, at Lot 8 Salon for creating this gorgeous look.

Fashion Extraodinaire, Todd Ramos, looking as posh as ever and The Vintage Contessa. Loving his fur and velvet jacket.

Stacy Swift, Jeff Shell of Neal Hamil Agency and Emcee of Fashion Houston, and The Vintage Contessa share a photo op.

We just had to highlight these two men who completely stole the night with their outrageous looks! His legs are to die for... is that weird to say?

The gorgeous Carla and Beatrice Valencia with 002Houston magazine. What's not to love about their outfits?

We can't wait for Fashion Houston next year! Now for a little R&R... just kidding. This is the fashion world. There is no sleeping in fashion world.
Until next time!

Chloe Dao at Fashion Houston

Chloe Dao, Houston fashion designer and Project Runway Season 2 Winner, showcased her new line of luxurious styles at this year's Fashion Houston.
Her well-executed, high-end collection allowed attendees to see a different side of the her personality. With luxe fabrics and mature designs, Chloe raised the bar when it comes to Texas designers.

The playfulness that she exudes in real-life was also evident in her pieces that not only gave off a mature vibe, but a fun one, as well. Maturity doesn't have to mean boring, right?

This red dress was by far my favorite piece in the collection. It's flirty, but stunning.

I was truly honored to have been chosen by Chloe to help accessorize her pieces for the night. The vintage jewelry married perfectly with her modern outlook adding value to each one that made it's way down the catwalk. It was a fabulous experience that will never be forgotten in my mind.

Thank you Chloe for making Fashion Houston such a wonderful experience for The Vintage Contessa.

Les Copains... Milano, Italy

Milan Fashion Week's perfectly ordered 70 degree sun shining day was a welcomed backdrop to the amazing architecture of the Domo further setting the stage for fabulously edited and styled Les Copains Spring Summer 2013 runway show. Following the pink carpet down the cobblestone path, we entered a grande cathedral like setting filled with energy and anticipation in the air. The excitment of watching and photographing the hightly fashionable guests arrive was only surpassed by the Spring Summer line designed by the famed Allesandro Dell'Acqua.

The excitment of watching and photographing the hightly fashionable guests arrive was only surpassed by the Spring Summer line designed by the famed Allesandro Dell'Acqua.

The energetic line hit a high note with geometric patterns in bold black and whites, infused with intense colors of blue and orange. A hightly stylized yet wearable line of lovely ladylike luxe pieces showed a sassy and contemporary flair.

The mix of patterns and color were fresh and light, offering the perfect silhouette for models as they sashed down the runway. Playful skirts, exposed backs, handmade knits and structured detailing were the perfect balance for the feminine body.

I loved the statement by Best Dressed fashionista and acclaimed interior designer, Lucinda Loya, who traveled from Houston to Milan for the show, " The line showed detailed sophistication with a lot of pretty and a little bit of edge." She and I were thrilled to see it live from the front row!

We are so grateful for the amazing hospitality of our fabulously composed and stylish host, Paolo Viera, CEO of Les Copains. From an amazing meals, front row seats, back stage pass and introductions to his highly acclaimed staff, I felt swept away from the moment I arrived in Milan.

Katherine Le Jewelry & Dec My Room

My eccentric, incredibly stylish, darling and talented friend, Katherine Le styled the most amazing debut at Tootsies Dec My Room Event kicking of the social season in Houston. Her dazzling jewels of emeralds and diamonds were not to be missed.

Dec My Room's mission of creating personalized hospital rooms for over 500 seriously ill children facing long periods of treatment brought an amazing group of women to support founder, Susan Plank. Dominique Sachse shared a heartfelt story about her personal experience decorating a disco theme room for a leukemia patient last year.
Katherine generously donated a coveted bauble that was given away to a lucky winner.

I couldn't help but notice a few not to be missed bags!

The message of giving was followed up with a fab fashion show by Ralph Lauren.

The Vintage Contessa at Fall 2012 Fashion Week NYC- BCBG MAX AZRIA Runway

The Vintage Contessa attends the BCBG MAX AZRIA Runway Show

Fall 2012 fashion week NYC -BCBG MAX AZRIA Runway
Lady like luxe still prevails at BCBG MAX AZRIA.The theme was clearly color blocking with rich deep earthy and jeweled tones in the form of flowing skirts and dresses. Even the more structured pieces that were designed to fit the curves of a woman's body were executed in fabrics that flowed as the models walked the runway. Pleats were plenty.
Color blocking fur circa 1970's was shown as accents on sleeves, collars, and as an accent at the hips. Edie Sedgwick mastered the look circa 1965.

As we see for Spring, the clutch was the accessory of choice, however my fav was the fur embellished clutch. Strong yellow also big for Spring, Electric blue and the Vintage Contessa's favorite color, rich "Hermes" orange were the accent colors that left the strongest impression.

And I must note, the bag lover in me couldn't help notice the woman in the audience carrying the Celine luggage in shocking pink. She is seated front row, as the models turn the corner.
