Recently The Vintage Contessa went to Florida for the Miami Beach Antique Show, besides seeing gorgeous jewels and selling fabulous handbags, there was also plenty to take in. From shopping on Lincoln Avenue to dining at some of the hottest places on the Beach. Miami was definitely a successful and inspirational trip.
For the show Mirror Mirror on the Live Well Network, I was asked to pick my favorite looks for spring. I chose three main looks for this feature - color blocking with brights, how to wear lace and high/low - mixing price points.

The Vintage Contessa travels to Denver for a look at the new Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective exhibit!

Take a look at the YSL Exhibit on the Denver Art Museum website.
Off to Denver for a taste of YSLI have been on the most amazing journey the last few weeks. At the very least, I have just been holding on for the ride. One of my adolescent dreams of becoming an accomplished writer is finally on its way to becoming a reality. Today I met with Clifford Pugh the Editor in Chief of Culture Map and I am proud to announce, I am officially on board as a contributing writer. Me, chosen as contributing writer for a respected news source? Wow, I am amazed, excited, elated, overjoyed and ready for assignments! First stop Denver Art Museum Friday night.
While skiing in Beaver Creek over Spring Break, my darling friend Tricia Swenson, TV 8 host of Good Morning Vail, introduced me to the Director of The Denver Art Museum, Christoph Heinrich. We spoke in depth about the fabulous new exhibit, Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective, opening March 25, 2012.
We hit it off so well, he and his darling associate Ashley (responsible for their fabulous PR) invited me to attend their invitation only Gala at the museum this Friday. The retrospective is the same we saw in Paris while living there in the summer of 2010, highlighting YSL's 40 years of creativity. It features a stunning selection of 200 haute couture garments along with numerous photographs, drawings, and films that illustrate the development of Saint Laurent's style and the historical foundations of his work. To say I can't wait is an understatement.
